Worth knowing
Aquarius; cover, cost and conditions
Thirteen model ranges are recorded under the name Aquarius, among them the Aquacat Race, the Aquacat Sport and the Monohull and Catamaran versions. Some of them are inflatable boats without an engine, some are inflatable boats with an engine. Most have been built since 2010 and are still in production today, and at NAMMERT the boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
During launching and craning, damage occurs that has nothing to do with being under way. The cover also applies in winter storage, during craning, launching and while in transit.
The Aquarius 3.8 Aquacat Sport range ran from 2014 to 2019 and has therefore been discontinued, while the other ranges continue. For the insurance this makes no difference, because we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis in every case.

The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repairs are predictable. Still, set the value at replacement cost, including sails, rigging or gear you bought later.
Even without an engine the rule holds: a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
