Sixty model ranges are recorded for Carolina Skiff. The 17 LS, the 19 LS and the 21 LS have been built since 2017, the 19 SWS since 2016 and the Ultra Elite models since 2011, all of them to this day. With a programme this broad every model is rated individually, because the premium depends on the boat and not on the brand name.
With motor boats the engine output is one of the factors that determine the premium, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Anyone who replaces or adds an engine reports the new output. That keeps the full hull cover with agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) in line with the boat.
Full hull cover includes collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, limited hull cover includes fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. The trailer is included at no extra premium, so that the way between the launching ramp and the storage space is covered as well.

Frequent questions
Which details change the premium when there is a new engine?
The engine output is one of the premium factors. Report a change, then the full hull cover and the agreed value stay in line with the current state of the boat.
Are current models and older years of construction equally insurable?
Yes. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. Online the policy can be taken out up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros, above that we review the individual case.

Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
