Worth knowing
Inter; cover, cost and conditions
Not every boat brand appears in the large catalogues, and for some hulls no recorded model ranges exist any more. That changes nothing for the insurance cover: we provide cover regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, and small series and home-built boats can be insured as well.
A 630 of this brand is already part of our portfolio. Decisive for the premium and the cover are the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and the cruising range. The value is arranged as an agreed value and is replaced in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without an age limit.
Anyone already insured elsewhere does not have to deal with the switch: we cancel the previous contract free of charge, and the new cover follows on seamlessly. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that an individual assessment follows. Third-party liability remains the basis.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does switching from an existing contract work?
You take out a policy with us and we cancel the previous contract free of charge. The new cover begins with third-party liability of 10 to 50 million euros and optionally with limited hull cover or full hull cover.
Can a boat be insured for which no shipyard documents are available any more?
Yes. What matters is the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and the cruising range, not the catalogue entry. The brand itself never enters into the premium in any case.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.
