One India 431 of this brand is insured with us. Beyond that no model ranges are on file, but that is enough to take out a policy. Small series and self-builds are insurable as well, and cover is granted regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. What matters are the data of the individual boat.

If there is no model range to refer to, the valuation list takes its place. From it results the agreed value, which is agreed when the policy is taken out and determines the indemnity in the event of a claim. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), so the agreed value remains the basis of settlement.

Full hull cover covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros carries both.

Can a boat be insured without a model range on file?

Yes. Small series and self-builds are just as insurable as boats without a documented programme. The basis is the data of the boat and the agreed value agreed when the policy is taken out.

How is an India 431 protected in winter storage?

Insurance cover applies in winter storage as well as during craning, during launching and on the transport route. There, limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat.
