Fifty-four ranges are recorded for Proficiat, among them the models Excellent 1050, Excellent 1100, Retro 1010, Retro 1100 and My Boat, with construction periods between 2000 and 2016. No overall type of boat is defined in our data, and for a large proportion of the ranges no individual details are available.
What counts for the contract is the individual boat: the type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the propulsion or the sail area and the cruising range produce the premium; the brand itself does not enter into the calculation. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, graded across Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
For ranges whose production dates back further, the agreed value governs which amount applies in the event of a claim. The settlement is made with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, even where there were several changes of owner in the past.

Frequent questions
What does the agreed value mean in the contract?
The value of the boat is settled when the policy is taken out and applies in a hull claim. No deduction for depreciation takes place, in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the boat.
When should the agreed value be reviewed?
Whenever the equipment or the value changes. With ranges such as the Excellent 1050, built until 2016, conversions and retrofits occur regularly over the years.

On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
