A clearly agreed sum insured is worthwhile for inflatable boats too: under full hull cover an agreed value applies, and payment is made with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). The inflatable boats SY330 and SY380 from Qingdao Shunyu as well as the motorised Sea Cat 330 were built between 2008 and 2016; anyone taking one over today secures its value bindingly.

The documented build periods end in 2016, and the boats change owner second-hand today. For the policy this is irrelevant: cover is provided regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and in the Premium tariff the full hull cover has no age limit, so that even an early-built boat remains fully covered.

A RIB-430 already sails in our own portfolio. Inflatable boats are often on the trailer: it is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, and cover also applies when launching, when craning, in transit and in winter storage; this way the boat stays insured between outings as well.

The Sea Cat 330 has not been built since 2016. How is its value determined?

When taking out cover we agree the realistic replacement value as the agreed value. In the case of a total loss this amount is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Does the place of purchase matter if my Qingdao Shunyu boat was not bought in Germany?

No, we insure regardless of place of purchase, year of construction and previous owners. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration
