With sailing yachts the sail area takes the place of the engine power as a premium factor. The Wibo model ranges from the 820 to the 1350 were built between 1969 and 1990; since then the yachts have changed owner second-hand. Alongside this, type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range count for the premium, not the brand.
The catalogue lists twenty-one model ranges, among them the Wibo 835, 930, 945 and 1100. The fact that production lies in the past is no obstacle: in the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit, an agreed value is agreed and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
A Wibo 930 is already sailing in our own portfolio. Anyone taking part in club races with their Wibo is included from Basis-Plus upwards; races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy. In this way the contract covers everyday cruising as well as the club race.

What determines the premium for a Wibo sailing yacht?

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
