Worth knowing
ACVA-Bat; cover, cost and conditions
Seven ACVA-Bat models are on record, built between 1967 and 1991: six sailing yachts and one open sailing boat. The core is formed by the Allegro 27, 33 and 33.1 at 8.03 and 9.81 metres, joined by the Adagio, Furioso and Vivace and the 3.2 metre Duo. The range therefore reaches from a small dinghy to a cruising yacht of almost ten metres.
Age is the decisive point when insuring an ACVA-Bat. Every model dates from 1967 to 1991, and for those years an agreed value works better than a depreciated value, because refit work and state of care say more about the worth than the build year does. The length range from a good three to almost ten metres is wide, so value and cruising area belong in the application in exact form. For the small Duo liability as the basis is usually enough, and trailer transport can be included.
NAMMERT insures ACVA-Bat boats regardless of year of build and place of purchase, including boats taken over second hand from abroad. Whether it is an Allegro 33 or a Vivace from the earliest years, the premium is worked out in the online calculator in five minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can an Allegro 27 from 1967 be insured?
Yes. The ACVA-Bat range on record starts in 1967 and there is no cut off year. For yachts like these an agreed value is the usual route.
How is the small Duo insured?
At 3.2 metres it is an open sailing boat that is easily moved on a trailer. Liability forms the basis and road transport can be included.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
