Worth knowing
Azur Performances; cover, cost and conditions
Azur Performances is recorded with six models, four sailing yachts and two motor yachts. On the sailing side stand the Sea 42 at 12.7 m, the Sea 51 at 15.5 m and the Sunsea 46 and Sunsea 46 MS at 14 m each. The power side consists of the Sun 36 at 11 m and the Seastar 58 at 17.7 m. All recorded models date from build years between 1979 and 1989.
Azur Performances yachts are all older vessels today, between 11 and nearly 18 m, many of them kept sailing and refitted. An agreed value is the decisive point for them, because market value reflects neither a replacement engine nor a new rig. Given lengths from 11 m upwards, the cruising area belongs clearly in the policy, as do the berth and the question of whether the yacht stays afloat over winter. On the sailing models, rig and sails should be valued separately.
NAMMERT insures Azur Performances regardless of year of build and regardless of where the yacht was bought. Vessels from the nineteen seventies and eighties can be covered too. The premium is calculated in the online quote tool in about five minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a Sea 51 from 1979 still be insured?
Yes. The year of build is no reason for refusal. For yachts of that period the value is agreed in advance as a fixed sum.
Are sailing and power versions treated differently?
Yes. On the Sea and Sunsea models, rig and sails form part of the declared value, whereas on the Sun 36 and Seastar 58 it is engines and drive train.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
