Worth knowing
C.N. Angloises; cover, cost and conditions
C.N. Angloises is listed with 22 models: nine motorboats, eight sailing dinghies, four sailing yachts and one catamaran. Build years run from 1975 to 2005 and lengths from 2.5 to 10.3 m. The Challenger models Bravo S, Horizon, Micro and Kid stand out, along with the J. range from 13 to 21 and the Caravelle, Fun and Ambition 33.
Most of the C.N. Angloises fleet is small and trailerable. For such boats third party liability is the basis, and transport on the trailer belongs in the cover, because many losses do not happen on the water. On the few larger units such as the Ambition 33 an agreed value is worth adding, since the build years now lie well in the past.
NAMMERT insures boats from C.N. Angloises regardless of build year and place of purchase, including purchases elsewhere in Europe. The premium is worked out in the online calculator in about five minutes. For boats under six metres only a few details are needed.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is a Challenger Micro covered while on the trailer?
If transport is included, yes. That module covers damage on the way between berth, winter storage and slipway.
Does a J. 13 of only a few metres need insurance at all?
Third party liability makes sense even on small boats and is compulsory in many areas. Hull cover pays off as soon as engine and equipment represent a noticeable value.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
Open catamarans are beached and trailed, so most damage happens ashore and in transit, not on the water.
