On motor yachts of this size what mainly counts is what is on board beyond the hull. Flybridge, hydraulic platform, bow thruster, air conditioning and navigation electronics account for a substantial share of the value and are the expensive items after a loss. Frequent questions
What do the letters F, S and N mean at Cayman?
They identify the line within the range, for example flybridge and sports versions. The number after them stands for the size. For premium and cover it is not the letter that counts but the actual length, the value and the cruising area.
Is the navigation electronics of a Cayman covered?
Permanently installed electronics are part of the boat and are covered through the sum insured. For that sum to be right, the equipment should be listed in full, especially devices fitted later.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
