In Italy, large yachts in steel and aluminium between 40 and 80 metres are built here. Recorded are the ranges Sport 43 / 50 m since 2010 and Classic 40 / 80 m since 2005, both up to the present day. At these sizes, third-party liability stands at the beginning of every consideration, with us at a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Columbus belongs to the Palumbo group, which has its own refit yards. If a refit drags on or there is a dispute about the work carried out, the legal expenses cover for water sports that we offer alongside applies; it comprises disagreements with a yard. For the hull insurance part we agree an agreed value.
Yachts of this class are above the limit for taking out cover online. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the application runs directly; above that we examine the individual case and agree the cover with you. The international certificate of insurance is added automatically in ten languages.

Frequent questions
How high is the limit of indemnity in third-party liability?
Between 10 and 50 million euros, depending on the tariff level. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in the amount and the scope of cover; in every level the third-party liability forms the basis for your yacht.
Can yachts worth more than 2.5 million euros be covered?
Yes, though not online. From that sum insured onwards we take the yacht into an individual assessment and agree the cover on an individual basis.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
