Worth knowing
Camper & Nicholsons; cover, cost and conditions
Between 10 and 60 metres is the range of this traditional British yard for yachts and large yachts. Recorded are the classics Nicholson 32 and 35, the Nicholson 43 and 55 as well as large yachts from 30 to 60 metres, whose model range is still listed today.
At such sizes the sum insured is the decisive point. Online you conclude up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros; above that we carry out an individual assessment. The third-party liability offers a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
For the classics from the build years from 1960 onwards the agreed value counts: it fixes the value, and the full hull cover indemnifies with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without an age limit. We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How high may the sum insured be when concluding online?
Up to 2.5 million euros you conclude directly online. If the value is above that, we examine the case individually and agree the cover with you.
What limit of indemnity does the third-party liability offer?
Depending on the tariff level, 10 to 50 million euros. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in scope, and the third-party liability remains the basis for the rest of the cover at every level.

Series by Camper & Nicholsons, with value and cover
Nicholson 32 / 35 (classic) is a sailing yacht from Camper & Nicholsons (the United Kingdom), built from 1960 to 1985, and today changes hands at between €25,000 and €90,000.
Nicholson 43 / 55 is a sailing yacht from Camper & Nicholsons (the United Kingdom), built from 1970 to 1995, and today changes hands at between €75,000 and €290,000.
C&N Großyacht 30 to 60 m is a sailing yacht from Camper & Nicholsons (the United Kingdom), built since 1900, and today changes hands at between €1,900,000 and €18,000,000.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
