Four motor yacht ranges bear the name Abalone: the 24, the 28, the 40 and the 48, built since 2014 and 2015 respectively and to this day. Early units therefore already have more than ten seasons behind them. The agreed value keeps the arranged value stable, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
The basis is the third-party liability cover with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. Full hull cover additionally covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. In the Premium tariff the age limit for waiving the new-for-old deduction no longer applies.
Between seasons the boat rests ashore, and cover applies there too: in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while in transit. Limited hull cover carries fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. A boat trailer is included at no extra premium.

Frequent questions
How does the year of construction of an Abalone affect the compensation?
The premium takes the year of construction into account, but the compensation follows the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). In the Premium tariff this waiver applies without an age limit, that is to say also for the early years of construction from 2014 onwards.
Does the hull insurance also apply at night at anchor?
Yes. Cover applies around the clock, in harbour, at anchor, while in transit and in winter storage.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
