Worth knowing
C.I.M.A.; cover, cost and conditions
From C.I.M.A. we have recorded the sailing boat Brigand with years of construction from 1968 to 1976. With a sailing boat the sail area takes the place of the engine output: together with type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range it enters into the premium. The name of the yard plays no role in the classification.
Production lies far back, and the hulls still sailed today are correspondingly old. For the full hull cover we agree an agreed value, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. In the event of a claim exactly this sum is paid with no deduction for depreciation, and we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
Anyone taking part in club races with the Brigand is included from the Basis-Plus tariff level upwards. Races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy. The basis remains the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, plus the cover for the boat in winter storage, during craning and during launching.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the engine power count towards the premium on a sailing boat?
On a sailing boat the sail area takes the place of the engine output. Added to this are type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The make remains outside the calculation in every case.
Are races with the boat covered?
Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff level upwards. Please state races with scoring status when taking out the policy, so that the cover fits from the outset.

Series by C.I.M.A., build years and cover
Brigand is a sailing boat from C.I.M.A., built from 1968 to 1976.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
