Worth knowing
CABO Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Four motor yacht ranges are recorded, the 36 Express, the 38 Flybridge, the 44 HTX and the 52 Flybridge. The years of construction lie between 2007 and 2016, so production has ended. For motorboats, classification depends above all on the installed power alongside the value.
The premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. Two boats of the same length can therefore turn out differently if the engine differs. The make itself plays no part in the calculation, and it is always the individual boat that is assessed.
Full hull cover includes collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). This means that the late return to the berth is also covered by the hull insurance.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What part does the engine play in the premium?
Engine power is one of the factors, alongside the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. More powerfully engined boats are classified differently, regardless of which yard built them.
Does the hull insurance also apply at night?
Yes. Trips after sunset or in the early hours of the morning are covered just as much as trips during the day.

Series by CABO Yachts, build years and cover
Cabo 44 HTX is a motor yacht from CABO Yachts, built from 2008 to 2016.
Cabo 36 Express is a motor yacht from CABO Yachts, built from 2007 to 2014.
Cabo 38 Flybridge is a motor yacht from CABO Yachts, built from 2007 to 2014.
Cabo 52 Flybridge is a motor yacht from CABO Yachts, built from 2007 to 2014.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
