Worth knowing
CCF Composites; cover, cost and conditions
A limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros is available in the third-party liability, graded across the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Two sailing yacht ranges are on record, the J/7 and the J/40, both in build since 2022. With new boats too, the third-party liability is the basis on which limited hull cover and full hull cover are built.
Both ranges are running to this day, so these are young sailing yachts. The premium follows the sail area instead of the engine power, and to that are added value, year of construction, type of boat and cruising range. An agreed value records the agreed amount from the outset.
Anyone starting with their club has club races included from Basis-Plus upwards; races with scoring status should be reported when taking out the policy. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that NAMMERT examines the individual case.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Up to which sum insured does the online policy go?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online. Above that an individual assessment follows. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.
Why does the sail area count on a J/40?
Because with sailing boats the premium is based on the sail area, just as with motorboats it is based on the engine power. This is supplemented by the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range, not by the brand.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for sailing boats and sailing yachts is the same across every brand; engine output, how a claim is settled, cruising range and theft protection. The class page lists every point and every brand in this class.

Series by CCF Composites, build years and cover
J/7 is a sailing yacht from CCF Composites, built since 2022.
J/40 is a sailing yacht from CCF Composites, built since 2022.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
