Worth knowing
Code Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
A single model range is recorded: the Code 10, built from 2018 to 2022. No information is available on size, country or method of construction. For a sailing yacht our rule is that the sail area takes the place of engine power when we determine the premium.
Alongside the sail area, type of boat, value, year of construction and the cruising range count, but not the make. Third-party liability is the basis and can be chosen with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels.
Since production ended in 2022, a Code 10 will as a rule enter the portfolio second-hand. Full hull cover is written with an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and you report races with scoring status when you take out the policy.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What is the premium for a sailing yacht based on?
With sailing yachts the sail area takes the place of engine power. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added. The manufacturer name has no influence.
Are races with the Code 10 covered as well?
Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff upwards. You declare races with scoring status when you take out the policy, so that they are expressly stated in the contract.

Series by Code Yachts, build years and cover
Code 10 is a sailing yacht from Code Yachts, built from 2018 to 2022.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
