Worth knowing
Corby Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
The Corby 29 is the only recorded model range in the programme, built between 2002 and 2009. On a sailing yacht there is no engine power on which the premium could be based. Its place is taken by the sail area, together with value, year of construction and cruising range.
This calculation applies regardless of which yard a yacht comes from and how many units were built there. A range with few models is insurable too, as are small series and self-built boats. Third-party liability insurance forms the basis here and is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
If the yacht is raced, club races are included from the Basis-Plus level upwards. Races with scoring status are to be stated when taking out the policy, so that they are recorded in it. The full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What is the premium for a sailing yacht based on?
On sail area, value, year of construction and cruising range. Engine power plays no part on a sailing boat, and the brand does not enter into the premium in any case.
Is racing included in the cover?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Races with scoring status are to be notified when taking out the policy, so that they are expressly taken into account in it.

Series by Corby Yachts, build years and cover
Corby 29 is a sailing yacht from Corby Yachts, built from 2002 to 2009.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
