Three ranges are on record: the Chergui sailing yacht from 1970 to 1981 as well as the sailing boats Ghibli from 1967 to 1981 and Simoun 445 from 1973 to 1980. Whichever of the boats is insured, every policy begins with third-party liability.
The limit of indemnity ranges from 10 to 50 million euros, spread over the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. It takes effect when you cause damage to others with the boat, for instance when berthing or in a narrow waterway. Limited hull cover and full hull cover can be built on top of it.
All three ranges ran out by 1981, and further details about the yard are missing. For acceptance into the portfolio this is of no importance, because we insure irrespective of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. Hull cover works with an agreed value instead of an estimated current market value.

How high is third-party liability cover on an older sailing boat?

Is third-party liability alone sufficient?
It is the basis and covers damage to others. For damage to your own boat, limited hull cover or full hull cover is added, for instance in the event of storm, fire, collision or grounding.
