Are gaff rigs and classic rigging treated differently?
No, value, length and cruising area decide. On the gaff cutters 34.1 and 36 the rig should be stated in full, though, because it is more elaborate than a standard rig.
Does one policy cover both the sailing and the motor version?
The type is recorded in the application. Haber offers both routes, for example the Haber 34.1 as a cutter and the 34M as a motor yacht, and both can be insured.
