Worth knowing
International Composites; cover, cost and conditions
For the premium of a sailing boat the sail area counts, not an engine power. With the Brenta 24 from the years of construction 1996 to 2010, the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added. The name of the yard enters into none of these factors, neither upwards nor downwards.
One model range is recorded; nothing is available on further ranges or on the size of the programme. The insurance cover does not depend on that. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and small series and home-built boats are possible as well.
Anyone who uses the boat for sport has club races included from Basis-Plus upwards. You state races with scoring status when taking out the policy. Hull cover knows no time window and no night clause, so it also applies when approaching in the dark.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does the sail area affect the premium?
With sailing boats it takes the place of the engine power and is one of several factors, alongside the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range.
Are there restrictions at night?
No. In hull cover there is no time window and no night clause. Damage in the dark is treated exactly like damage during the day.

Series by International Composites, build years and cover
Brenta 24 is a sailing boat from International Composites, built from 1996 to 2010.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
