Worth knowing
Japko; cover, cost and conditions
Five motor yacht ranges are recorded, the Ch DL 45, Ch P 50, Ch Royal 42, Pilot 43 and Trend 45 models with production periods between 1990 and 1998. Yachts like these spend part of the year ashore. The cover also applies in winter storage, during craning and launching.
The limited hull cover covers damage in winter storage as well as fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the whole boat. During lifting and setting down, the contract remains effective without a separate agreement, as it does while the boat is in transit between berth and shed.
Because production ended in the nineties, what is at stake today are used boats. We provide cover regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, in the full hull cover with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), and in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the boat.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Am I insured while the boat is being lifted out of the water?
Yes. Craning and launching are part of the cover, as are transit and the time in winter storage. No additional agreement is needed for this.
What damage does the limited hull cover include ashore?
Fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage. The full hull cover adds vandalism and theft of parts, among other things.

On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
