Worth knowing
Johnson Sons; cover, cost and conditions
One sailing yacht range is recorded, the Neptune, built from 1965 to 1976. With boats from these years a current-value approach hardly leads to a usable result. NAMMERT therefore agrees an agreed value and pays compensation in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation.
The agreed value is set when the policy is concluded and forms the basis of the full hull cover. In the Premium tariff it applies with no age limit, so that even a yacht from the sixties does not fail because of a date. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
Covered are collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts, and in the limited hull cover fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage. For sailing yachts the sail area rather than the engine output enters into the premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.

Series by Johnson Sons, build years and cover
Neptune is a sailing yacht from Johnson Sons, built from 1965 to 1976.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
