Worth knowing
Kumbra Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Every policy begins with the third-party liability: a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, selectable in the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. For the Kumbra 34, a motor yacht built since 2021 and continuing to this day, it is the basis on which limited hull cover and full hull cover build.
Then follows the question of the hull cover scope. The full hull cover covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, the limited hull cover fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. There is no time window in this.
A single documented model range changes nothing about the procedure: the premium is based on type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, never on the brand. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the conclusion runs online, above that we assess the individual case.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Which tariff levels are available for selection?
Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. They differ in the limit of indemnity of the third-party liability from 10 to 50 million euros, in the inclusion of racing from Basis-Plus onwards and in the waiver of the deduction for depreciation (new for old) with no age limit.
Up to what sum is the online conclusion possible?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros. If the value is above that, an individual assessment follows. In both cases you receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

Series by Kumbra Yachts, build years and cover
Kumbra 34 is a motor yacht from Kumbra Yachts, built since 2021.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
