Worth knowing
Langö; cover, cost and conditions
On a sailing yacht the sail area replaces the engine power as the rating factor. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added. For the Langö 999, the only recorded range of this yard, these are the details from which the premium follows.
The Langö 999 was built from 1985 to 1993, and no further ranges are available. Small series and home-built boats are insurable with us, and we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so that a third-hand boat also enters the contract.
For hull insurance we agree an agreed value with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards, and races with ranking status you state when taking out the policy so that they are taken into account in the contract.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Why does the sail area count for sailing yachts?
It takes the place of the engine power. Together with the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range it produces the premium. The brand never enters into it.
How are races treated?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards. Races with ranking status you state when taking out the policy so that this use is reflected in the contract.

Series by Langö, build years and cover
Langö 999 is a sailing yacht from Langö, built from 1985 to 1993.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
