Worth knowing
MakeSails; cover, cost and conditions
When a boat is moved over land, many losses do not occur on the water. At NAMMERT the cover applies during craning, during launching and during transport. One sailing yacht model range is recorded for the brand, the Make 25 with a building period from 2006 to 2017.
A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, so a separate contract is not needed. Winter storage is included as well, in limited hull cover expressly for fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat. This means the time on land is not left unprotected.
Production ended in 2017, so purchases today are second-hand. Year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners play no part in acceptance. Under full hull cover compensation is paid according to the agreed value, with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is transport to winter storage covered as well?
The cover applies during transport, during craning, during launching and in winter storage itself. There is no time window and no night clause in hull cover.
Is a separate premium charged for the trailer?
No. A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. You need neither a second contract nor a separate agreement for it.

Series by MakeSails, build years and cover
Make 25 is a sailing yacht from MakeSails, built from 2006 to 2017.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
