Worth knowing
ÖSW; cover, cost and conditions
One range is recorded for ÖSW, the Vosper Caliari 38 MY from the years of construction 1975 to 1982. The available data yields no more than that. The motor yacht can be insured nonetheless, because we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
On a yacht from the 1970s a good deal has been added over the decades: navigation electronics, engine, interior fit out. Whatever is to be insured belongs in the list supporting the sum insured, so that the agreed value reflects the actual scope.
Full hull cover includes collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard and pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Limited hull cover carries fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and winter storage damage.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What belongs in the list supporting the sum insured?
The boat, the engine and the permanently associated equipment including electronics. Only what is recorded there feeds into the agreed value and is replaced in a claim with no deduction for depreciation.
Does hull insurance also apply at night?
Yes. There is no time window and no night clause in hull insurance. Cover exists continuously, in winter storage as well, during craning and while in transit.

Series by ÖSW, build years and cover
Vosper Caliari 38 MY is a motor yacht from ÖSW, built from 1975 to 1982.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
