Worth knowing
Posthumus; cover, cost and conditions
The only recorded range is the Roland 1100 motor yacht with years of construction from 1976 to 1983. After that nothing more was documented under this name. The basis for every policy remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
It is available in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium and covers damage you cause to others with the boat. Hull cover comes on top: limited hull cover for fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and winter storage damage, full hull cover additionally for collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.
For a yacht with a year of construction from the seventies the same access applies as for a new boat. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, the value is set as an agreed value and indemnified with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does third-party liability stand for with a motor yacht?
For damage you cause to others with the boat. Depending on the tariff level it covers 10 to 50 million euros and forms the basis on which limited hull cover or full hull cover is built.
Which details determine the premium?
Type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. The brand does not enter into it, so the name of the yard has no effect either upwards or downwards.

Series by Posthumus, build years and cover
Roland 1100 is a motor yacht from Posthumus, built from 1976 to 1983.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
