Worth knowing
Schulha; cover, cost and conditions
The Atlantis 40 is the only recorded model range, with years of construction from 1963 to 1995. Over more than three decades the designation stayed the same, and the years of construction lie correspondingly far apart. For the insurance that means: very different vintages under one designation.
When years of construction lie so far apart, the agreed value is the bracket. The value is agreed for the individual boat, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). In the Premium tariff, full hull cover applies without an age limit, even for a boat with year of construction 1963.
For the premium, type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range count. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and you state races with ranking status when you take out the policy. Cover also applies in winter storage, during craning and during launching.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does a long production period affect the policy?
Every boat is rated according to its own year of construction and its agreed value. The agreed value is set individually, not across the board for the model range.
Can a boat from 1963 still be insured?
Yes. We provide cover regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In the Premium tariff, full hull cover applies with an agreed value and without an age limit.

Series by Schulha, build years and cover
Atlantis 40 is a sailing yacht from Schulha, built from 1963 to 1995.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
