Sixteen ranges are recorded under Yachting France, and they cover quite different things: the sailing boats Formula 18, Scenic F18, Tonic 10.5 and Tonic 13.5, the cabin trimarans Magnum 18 and Magnum 21 S as well as the motor yachts Elmarine Elan Power E 35 and E 42.
The years of build range from 1995 to 2018. Depending on the boat, either the sail area or the engine power counts, together with the type of boat, value, year of build and cruising range. Whatever equipment and electronics form part of the value belong in the schedule to the contract and therefore in the agreed value.
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, races with scoring status you declare when taking out the policy. Full hull cover settles claims with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old") and covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.

How are multihulls classified?
Cabin trimarans are classified like other boats, by type of boat, value, year of build, sail area or engine power and cruising range. The brand plays no part in the premium.
What should be considered with a boat from 1995?
We provide cover regardless of the year of build, the place of purchase and previous owners. The value is agreed as an agreed value, claims are settled with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff without an age limit.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On a trimaran the floats and their beams are the weak point, on folding models the mechanism as well.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
