Yu Ching; cover, cost and conditions
Three model ranges are on record: the Formosa 42 and Yu Ching 52 motor yachts as well as the Peterson 44 sailing yacht, all with construction periods between 1975 and 1985. Yachts of this size are craned out at the end of the season and spend the winter ashore, where cover continues to apply.
Winter storage, craning, launching and the transport route are included. There, limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. There is no time restriction and no night clause in hull cover.
On the motor yachts the engine output feeds into the premium, and on the Peterson 44 the sail area. Added to this are type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Since production ended in 1985, the agreed value secures compensation with no deduction for depreciation.

How is a yacht protected in winter storage?
Damage in winter storage is included in limited hull cover, as are fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat. Craning, launching and transport are included.
Does the engine output count on a sailing yacht?
On sailing boats the sail area takes the place of the engine output. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range feed into the premium in both cases.
