Worth knowing
Aerodyne Technology; cover, cost and conditions
Three sailing yacht model ranges are listed for Aerodyne Technology: the 35, the 38 and the 47. Their build periods begin in 1996 and 1997 and end in 2007. Anyone taking over one of these yachts today buys a boat from a completed production run. For the insurance what counts is the value agreed upon and not the year of construction.
When buying second hand, the question of the replacement value arises. In the full hull cover from NAMMERT an agreed value is set, and in the event of a claim we pay with no deduction for depreciation. In the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit, so that even a yacht built in 2007 remains covered at the full agreed value.
Third-party liability forms the basis with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards; races with ranking status you state when taking out the policy. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can yachts from a production run that ended in 2007 still be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The premium depends on the type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the sail area and the cruising range, never on the brand.
How is an Aerodyne 47 protected in winter storage?
Cover also applies in winter storage as well as when craning, when launching and on the road. The limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage.

Series by Aerodyne Technology, build years and cover
Aerodyne 35 is a sailing yacht from Aerodyne Technology, built from 1997 to 2007.
Aerodyne 38 is a sailing yacht from Aerodyne Technology, built from 1996 to 2007.
Aerodyne 47 is a sailing yacht from Aerodyne Technology, built from 1997 to 2007.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
