Worth knowing
Anstey Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Anstey Yachts is listed with 6 models, all sailing yachts. The records hold the Trapper 28, Trapper 300 and Trapper 500 and yachts to C&C designs in 27, 35 and 39 feet. Recorded build years run from 1963 to 1991, lengths from 8 to 12 m.
These yachts come from a time when cruising boats sailed hard defined the market. For insurance that means rig and fittings carry more load in racing style use, and a dismasting is the expensive claim. Comprehensive hull cover pays for it as long as it results from an event and not from a decades old rig that has never been overhauled.
NAMMERT insures Anstey yachts regardless of build year and of where they were bought. On well kept ships the value is above the depreciation table, so we recommend an agreed fixed value based on a survey. You can calculate the premium for liability and hull cover in the online calculator in about 5 minutes.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
My yacht carries a C&C name but was built by Anstey. Which applies?
Both entries lead to the same record with us. In any case what counts for the policy is length, build year, value and cruising area, not who drew the lines.
Do I have to declare racing?
Yes, including club races. Racing loads rig and sails more heavily and is agreed separately. Tell us the setting in which you sail and it will be taken into account.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
