Worth knowing
Austin & Pickersgill Ltd.; cover, cost and conditions
A single model range has come down to us: the Princess Tanya, a motor yacht of the years of construction 1958 to 1964. Production lies far in the past, and every unit sailing today is a used boat with a long history. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
The full hull cover covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. With a yacht from the sixties a complete list of the co-insured equipment is worthwhile, so that the agreed value reflects the actual scope and nothing is missing in the event of a claim.
The limited hull cover bears fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Above this stands the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros as the basis of every contract. In the hull cover there is neither a time window nor a night clause.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a yacht of the years of construction 1958 to 1964 still be insured?
Yes. Year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners are no obstacle. For the Princess Tanya the same tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium are open as for newer motor yachts.
How is the value of such an old boat determined?
Through an agreed value in the full hull cover. Indemnity is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit, so that the age of the yacht does not reduce the arranged value.

Series by Austin & Pickersgill Ltd., build years and cover
Princess Tanya is a motor yacht from Austin & Pickersgill Ltd., built from 1958 to 1964.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
