Worth knowing
Baraquda; cover, cost and conditions
Under Baraquda a single model range is recorded, the BAQ 261, a cabin trimaran from the years of construction 2009 to 2021. Small production numbers are no obstacle for us: small series and home builds are insurable, and so are boats whose production ended long ago.
A single model does not mean less cover. Full hull cover comprises collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, limited hull cover comprises fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage.
For the BAQ 261 the same applies as for every other boat: the premium is based on type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area or engine output and cruising range, never on the brand. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros remains the basis.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is a boat from a small series insurable at all?
Yes. Small series and home builds are insurable. With the BAQ 261 too, which is recorded as the only model range, the policy follows the technical details of the boat and not the number of units built.
What damage does limited hull cover include on a multihull?
Fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.

Series by Baraquda, build years and cover
Baraquda BAQ 261 is a cabin trimaran from Baraquda, built from 2009 to 2021.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a trimaran the floats and their beams are the weak point, on folding models the mechanism as well.
