Under comprehensive hull cover yes, if it results from a sudden event. Material fatigue on a rig that has not been overhauled for years counts as wear and is not covered.
What should I watch on a carbon fibre hull?
Repairs are specialist work and take longer than on a standard laminate. The sum insured should therefore match the actual build cost rather than a general market value.
