Worth knowing
Cardinal Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Anyone calling at foreign ports will be asked for proof of insurance. NAMMERT issues the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. One model range is recorded for the brand, the Cardinal 1400, built from 2010 to 2017, so that today only used units change hands.
The certificate comes without a separate application, you do not have to request it. Which cruising range is covered you determine when taking out the policy, because it feeds into the premium alongside value, year of construction and engine power. The brand itself plays no part in the level of the premium.
In hull insurance there is no time window and no night clause. Full hull cover includes collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard and pays according to the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff without an age limit.

Series by Cardinal Yachts, build years and cover
Cardinal 1400 is a motor yacht from Cardinal Yachts, built from 2010 to 2017.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
