Worth knowing
Celestial; cover, cost and conditions
The basis of every policy is boat third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graded into Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. This applies to the Celestial 500 sailing yacht from the years of construction 1986 to 1994 just as it does to a new boat, because the premium never follows the brand.
No further model ranges are recorded under this name, and the one range on file was produced over eight years. What the boat is worth today is recorded through the agreed value, which is paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
With a sailing yacht the sail area replaces the engine power as a premium factor, and to this are added the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards; races with ranking status are to be declared when you take out the policy so that they are stated in it.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How high is the limit of indemnity in the third-party liability cover?
Between 10 and 50 million euros depending on the tariff level. Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium differ in scope, and third-party liability forms the basis of the policy at every level.
Are races with the Celestial 500 covered?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Races with ranking status are declared when you take out the policy so that they are expressly taken into account in it.

Series by Celestial, build years and cover
Celestial 500 is a sailing yacht from Celestial, built from 1986 to 1994.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
