Worth knowing
Da Vinci Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Two motor yachts appear in the records of Da Vinci Yachts: the Da Vinci 30 from 2007 to 2013 and the Da Vinci 35E from 2010 to 2020. No new units are being added, access runs through the second-hand market. It is precisely there that points of dispute arise which go beyond mere hull damage.
Legal expenses cover for water sports is offered alongside at NAMMERT and applies, for example, to disputes after the purchase of a used boat or with a shipyard. It can be held next to third-party liability, limited hull cover and full hull cover and adds the legal dispute to the material cover.
On the hull side the following applies: agreed value, compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit, plus collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. Underneath it lies third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the legal expenses cover help after a purchase with hidden defects?
Legal expenses cover for water sports is tailored to disputes after the purchase of a used boat and to disputes with a shipyard. It is offered in addition to third-party liability and hull insurance.
How quickly is a used Da Vinci 35E covered?
As soon as the value, the year of construction, the engine power and the cruising range have been recorded. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, and we cancel an existing contract free of charge.

Series by Da Vinci Yachts, build years and cover
Da Vinci 35E is a motor yacht from Da Vinci Yachts, built from 2010 to 2020.
Da Vinci 30 is a motor yacht from Da Vinci Yachts, built from 2007 to 2013.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
