Worth knowing
Dutchcat; cover, cost and conditions
A cabin catamaran with build years between 2021 and 2024 is usually still covered by a current policy held by the previous owner or the dealer. NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge as part of the switching service, so that no gap arises. Third-party liability and hull insurance then start on the agreed date.
For third-party liability a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros is available in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. Full hull cover settles on the basis of the agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) and includes collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.
No further details on the country, the size or the orientation of the yard are available, and we say no more about it. For the contract the type of boat, the value, the build year, the engine output or sail area and the cruising range suffice. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does the switch from an existing policy work?
You provide the details of the previous policy, NAMMERT cancels it free of charge and sets up the new cover for the appropriate date. In this way no gap remains between the two contracts.
Does a catamaran need a separate arrangement?
No, cabin catamarans run through the same tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. The premium follows the type of boat, the value, the build year, the sail area or engine output and the cruising range.

Series by Dutchcat, build years and cover
Dutchcat is a cabin catamaran from Dutchcat, built from 2021 to 2024.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
