Four Winns builds bowriders, deck boats and cabin boats in Michigan and belongs, like Glastron and Wellcraft, to Groupe Beneteau. The models lie between 5 and 11 metres, most of them on a trailer. With the larger Vista models with a cabin, a point is added that open boats do not have: on-board electrics, refrigeration, shore power connection. Cable fires and water damage from on-board systems are the most frequent hull insurance claim on cabin boats at the berth.
For Four Winns the same applies as for all American production boats in Europe: spare parts come in by import, not off the shelf. A hull repair is straightforward, but a spare part for the drive, a fitting or an instrument can take weeks and become expensive. Licence
