Worth knowing
Gilmax; cover, cost and conditions
Under the name Gilmax one model range is recorded, the sailing boat Signet Super 20 from the years 1967 to 1981. Boats of this size often stand on the trailer and only go into the water for the season. It is exactly this change between land and water that belongs inside the insurance cover.
The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. The cover applies during launching, during craning, in winter storage and on the transport route. You therefore need no separate agreement for these journeys, as long as the boat is listed in the policy.
For the hull cover we agree an agreed value. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff without any age limit, which counts for a boat built in the sixties and seventies. The premium follows type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the trailer have to be insured separately?
No. The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. The transport route as well as launching and craning are covered too.
Does the cover also apply outside the season?
Yes. The cover applies in winter storage, and the limited hull cover carries fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the whole boat there. The hull insurance knows no time window.

Series by Gilmax, build years and cover
Signet Super 20 is a sailing boat from Gilmax, built from 1967 to 1981.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
