Two model ranges of cabin catamarans are recorded for HH Catamarans, the HH 50 Ocean Cruising since 2018 and the HH 55 since 2023, both still in production today. Anyone taking over such a catamaran as a used boat should clarify at the jetty, before the purchase, which replacement value is to be stated in the contract.
We record this value as an agreed value. In the event of a total loss we pay it with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff without any age limit. The year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners change nothing about insurability, and that applies equally to both model ranges.
From a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the online policy ends and we review the individual case. Third-party liability forms the basis with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros. For journeys across the border you receive the international certificate of insurance in ten languages.

Frequent questions
What should I look out for when buying a used catamaran?
Record the replacement value together with the permanently fitted equipment before the contract is in place. This becomes the agreed value, and that is what determines the compensation in the event of a claim.
Does the insurance help in a dispute after the purchase?

Licence

Registration

Series by HH Catamarans, build years and cover
HH 50 Ocean Cruising is a cabin catamaran from HH Catamarans, built since 2018.
HH 55 is a cabin catamaran from HH Catamarans, built since 2023.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
