Worth knowing
Hydro; cover, cost and conditions
A single motorboat is on file, the Sea-Boat 510 with a build period from 1970 to 1977. Boats from those years have a value that arises from their condition, their engine and their equipment and not from a table. The agreed value records this value in the contract.
In the event of a claim, the agreed value is paid with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. A dispute about the current market value is thereby avoided. For a boat with a year of construction from the seventies, the settlement is thus already determined when the contract is taken out.
Further ranges of the yard are not recorded, and details of the size or the origin are missing. It is insured nonetheless, because we take on boats regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. The premium follows the type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the engine power and the cruising range.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is there an age limit for the full hull cover?
In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies with no age limit. Settlement is made through the agreed value, with no deduction for depreciation, also for a boat from the seventies.
What does the limited hull cover cover on an older motorboat?
Fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.

Series by Hydro, build years and cover
Sea-Boat 510 is a motorboat from Hydro, built from 1970 to 1977.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
