Worth knowing
Interjacht; cover, cost and conditions
The two recorded model ranges date from the years 1970 to 1977, the motor yacht Carina II and the sailing yacht Marlena. Both production runs lie far back. On boats of this age, the agreed value decides what is replaced in the event of a claim.
Full hull cover from NAMMERT pays compensation according to the agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation, new for old. In the Premium tariff it applies with no age limit, so the year of build does not exclude the cover. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts are additionally covered.
Because a motor yacht and a sailing yacht are classified differently, the engine power counts on the Carina II and the sail area on the Marlena. Added to this are the value, the year of build and the cruising range. The brand remains without significance for the premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does agreed value mean in the event of a claim?
The value is fixed in the contract and replaced in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation, new for old. You do not have to prove the current value, the agreed amount is set in advance.
Is there an age limit for full hull cover?
Not in the Premium tariff. There, full hull cover applies with no age limit, so that yachts with years of build from the seventies are also secured at the agreed value.

Series by Interjacht, build years and cover
Carina II is a motor yacht from Interjacht, built from 1970 to 1977.
Marlena is a sailing yacht from Interjacht, built from 1970 to 1977.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
