Worth knowing
J-Craft Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Two ranges are on record for J-Craft Boats: the Cabrio Cruiser as a motor boat from 2007 to 2018 and the J-Craft 39 as a motor yacht from 2003 to 2010. Both production periods have ended; today the boats pass into new hands via the used market and are valued afresh there.
When buying second-hand, the replacement value is the decisive figure. In full hull cover it is agreed as an agreed value, indemnity is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) and in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The purchase price paid alone therefore does not determine the extent of the cover.
Legal expenses cover for water sports is also offered and takes effect in a dispute after buying a used boat or with a yard. If you bring an existing policy with you, NAMMERT cancels the old policy free of charge as part of the switching service, so that the new cover follows on without a gap.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What matters when buying a used motor boat?
A realistically set value that goes into the policy as an agreed value. That way it is clear before any claim what you can count on, with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Does the insurance help in a dispute with the seller?
Legal expenses cover for water sports is also offered and covers, among other things, disputes after buying a used boat or with a yard.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for motor yachts is the same across every brand; engine output, how a claim is settled, cruising range and theft protection. The class page lists every point and every brand in this class.

Series by J-Craft Boats, build years and cover
J-Craft Cabrio Cruiser is a motorboat from J-Craft Boats, built from 2007 to 2018.
J-Craft 39 is a motor yacht from J-Craft Boats, built from 2003 to 2010.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
