Fourteen model ranges run from the Jakol 310 of 1991 to the 510 Open and 750 Open models, which are still built today. Alongside open boats, the programme includes several cabin versions that are listed as motor yachts. Open or with a cabin, this changes the equipment and therefore the schedule of values.
Whatever is permanently installed or carried on board belongs in the schedule for the agreed value: electronics, equipment and the outboard. Full hull cover covers theft of parts including the outboard as well as vandalism, collision and grounding, and pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
From our portfolio we know the 600, the 510 and the J 520. The boat trailer is included at no extra premium, and cover applies during craning, during launching, on the road and in winter storage.

Frequent questions
Do the chart plotter and radio belong in the sum insured?
Yes, permanently installed electronics and equipment carried on board belong in the schedule of values. Only what is listed there is covered by the agreed value and is replaced with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Does the cabin version make a difference to the contract?
It is not the designation that counts but the data: type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range. A cabin version usually brings more equipment with it, and that belongs in the agreed value.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
