Two model ranges are available, the Oyster 16 motor boat from the years 1973 to 1981 and the Sealion 40 motor yacht from the years 1965 to 1973. The two ranges cover very different boat sizes, and accordingly the engine power enters into the premium very differently.
Alongside the engine power, type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range count. The name of the manufacturer never enters into the calculation, which is why two boats of the same design are treated alike, regardless of who built them. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros cover is taken out online.
Both ranges came to an end decades ago. That changes nothing about acceptance, because we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.

What role does the engine power play in the premium?
With motor boats and motor yachts it is one of the factors, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. With sailing boats the sail area takes its place. The brand stays out of it.
Are boats from the sixties still accepted?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In the Premium tariff full hull cover with an agreed value applies with no age limit, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
