The Merwede Kruiser 10.0 AK is the only model range on record, a motorboat from the years 1977 to 1983. Anyone taking over such a boat today buys it second hand, and for that we also offer legal expenses cover for water sports. It applies in disputes following the purchase of a used boat.

Disputes with a shipyard also fall under this cover, for example when there is disagreement about the result after a repair. Separately from that, the following applies to the boat insurance: we insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, and we record the value as an agreed value.

For a boat whose construction ended in 1983, the hull insurance remains complete: collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts in full hull cover, fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat in limited hull cover. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.

Does the legal expenses cover also include disputes with a shipyard?

Yes, legal expenses cover for water sports can be included and applies to disputes with a shipyard just as it does after the purchase of a used boat.

Can a boat from 1977 still be insured?

Yes. Year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners do not restrict access. The value is stated in the contract as an agreed value and is compensated with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
